The Matchbox Diary by Paul Fleishman
Gorgeously detailed illustrations take readers from the Italian countryside to the bustle of America as a new immigrant. A little girl visiting her great-grandfather picks up a cigar box. Inside are tiny matchboxes that each hold a momento and a story from the great-grandfather's life that he shares with her. Unable to read or write he kept a diary of his early life through these objects. Such sweetness.
Bully by Laura Vaccaro Seeger
With each successive page in this picture book, baby bull growls at his farm friends and gets larger and larger until all you see of him is one paw. When he is called a "Bully" by one of them it comes as quite a shock to him. Suddenly deflated, he apologizes to his friends and asks, Wanna play?
Miracle Mud by David A. Kelly
Who would have ever guessed that there is a secret mud recipe to make new baseballs playable and not soggy, black and stinky! Thanks to Lena Blackburne and his fishing trip in 1938 major league baseball has never been the same. True story!

It has been a long time coming, but finally with the help of SSDS Grandma, Miri Chorev, we have processed many, many new titles to add to our Hebrew language collection. Great choices!
Please note, that our entire collection is available to students as well as Schechter families and all members of our greater Schechter community.
