Words by Matt de la Pena; Pictures by Christian Robinson
Both author and illustrator have created a powerful story and all of it’s done from a child’s point of view. It touches on our fears, our prejudices, our inhumanity and then on our hopes and dreams and humanity. It offers a glimpse of who we are and then a glimpse at our better selves. This should be shared within all elementary classrooms. Amidst all of our current events and issues of inequalities, this book will give all readers much to think about and discuss.
