I know that I was recently excited about another great cat graphic novel, “Cat Kid Comic Book Club,” but here comes another one that I really like a lot. This one is for older kids; high second to fifth graders. Katie is a happy city kid with friends and a loving but busy mom. She’s disappointed that she is unable to go away with her best friends to sleep away camp for the summer but her family does not have the finances. Resourceful Katie comes up with the idea that she will raise money for a stay at the camp by being a helper of any kind to people in her apartment building. |
This book was fun to read and I think it will be enjoyed by kids. The main character learns about her strengths. There is a mix of realistic middle school issues with heroic adventure. I look forward to reading about Katie again!
