Well apparently I’m behind the times, twenty years behind, and half a million copies behind, but better late than ever. I ran across this title, The Invisible String, which has a deep following as well as two sequels and a workbook, (that I haven’t read yet.) I thought to share it because it reminds me of The Kissing Hand, by Audrey Penn, a book I used quite often with my youngest child and now my grandchildren. Patrice Karst has written an inspirational story that is nicely illustrated by Joanne Lew-Vriethoff. Sometimes, adults need just the right saying or just the right motion to convey to our young loved ones that we are always connected, even though we may be physically separated. This invisible string is one of those love connections between ourselves and our special human. It promotes a never ending connection whether we are underwater in a submarine or exploring the jungle. It is calm, simple and joyful and may just be the book you’re looking for if your young one is dealing with separation anxiety. Glad to know of it for my repertoire.

We love "The Kissing Hand", so I will definitely be checking out "The Invisible String" for my 2 and 4 year olds. Thanks Lori the Librarian!
